Best practice - single entry point: Even more clear, guidance from staff to always use entry point for an RPP, reference to appropriate other sections.
An entry point is added by selecting the place and clicking "Add point" under ENTRY POINTS. An icon will to appear on top of the point or at the centroid of the area place and can then be moved into position. . A dashed black line boundary box will show the limit for where the entry point can be placed.
=== Best practice - single entry point ===* Use only one entry point - When used, the application currently routes only to the earliest-created entry point* Entry point names may should be named or left unnamed - the application does not show the name* An entry point is necessary only when:** The point place marker or area place centroid position is not in the correct place - nearest placed very close to the closest segment where a car would stop to bring someone to the place.** A residential place (RPP) has a different (street, city) combination in its address than the street it should stop on. Without an entry point, the navigation stop point will be on the closest segment which matches the (street, city) combination. Examples: A building with an address on a main road, but entrance is from a named or unnamed side road or parking lot road; a place with city name different from the city name used on the segment with the same street name.* The entry point should be positioned very close to the closest segment where a car would stop to bring someone to the place.<!--Example:A large park with an entry road on the east side, with a close-up view of entry point position.clear clear-->* For a residential point place always use an entry point. With no entry point, drives to that RPP could end on the segment with the same street name.* For an area place always create one and only one entry point. Choose the "best stopping point" for someone driving to the place. With no entry point, drives to that area place will end on the segment closest to the area's centroid.**If additional stop points for the place are required, use Area-point combinations .**An entry point name is optional**Designating the single entry point as "main" is optional**For more information on multiple entry points, see the section on testing multiple entry points below.
